Title: Falafel Lunch

Location: Jerusalem

Description: Awash with color and the scent of strong spices, our group settled down for lunch in this open market in the Muslim Quarter. The fresh baked delicacies, interspersed with hanging shanks of lamb make our decision for lunch very difficult. We finally choose to sit outside and order our own falafel. This specialty consists of a pita bread, stuffed with as many salad mixtures as you can get, but the major ingredient is a fried mixture of chick pea paste with parsley.

The atmosphere in this Arab market is more relaxed today than in the late 80's and, after admiring my painting of his shop, we exchanged an exquisite dress for the painting. Everyone was happy.
